  7. Set the time clock Push all the detentes away (out) from the center and rotate the time clock 1 full turn.

NOTE:
DURING TESTING, ALLOW EACH FUNCTION TO COMPLETELY FINISH BEFORE ACTIVATING ANOTHER SWITCH.
READ EACH STEP BEFORE PERFORMING THE ACTIONS.

Manual Operation Test

  1. Apply power to unit.
The POWER indicator on front panel will turn on.
The pump and the PUMP indicator on the front panel will be off
The NO FLOW and FREEZE indicators on the front panel will be off.
The SHUT DOWN CYCLE indicator on the front panel will be off.
The T.C. ON (LD6) indicator on the front circuit board will be off.

  2. Turn the AUTOMATIC/MANUAL on the front panel switch to “manual”.
The PUMP indicator will turn on and be green.
The pump will turn on and run in high speed.

  3. Turn the PUMP ON/PUMP OFF switch to the PUMP OFF position.
The pump will turn off. The PUMP indicator will be off.

  4. Turn the PUMP ON/PUMP OFF switch to the PUMP ON position.
The pump will turn on and run in high speed.
The PUMP indicator will turn on and be green.

  5. Turn the AUTOMATIC/MANUAL Switch to the AUTOMATIC position.

  6. If the either of the pool heater or power options is installed, the pump will run in HIGH speed for 7-23 seconds. (Shut Down Cycle)
The SHUT DOWN CYCLE indicator will illuminate while the pump is running in high speed.
The PUMP light will be green.

  7. If none of the options are installed or when the Shut Down Cycle ends:
    The pump will turn off.
The PUMP indicator on the front panel will be off.

Automatic Operation Test

  1. Push some of the time clock detentes to the "on" position (detentes toward the center of the time clock). Rotate the time clock to an "on" position.
The PUMP indicator will turn on and be green.
The pump will turn on and run in high speed.
The T.C. ON (LD6) indicator on the front board will be on.
If either of the heater options are installed, the heater is allowed to fire (the heater must be turned on and the thermostat must call for the heater to turn on).
If the power option is installed, the device connected to it will be turned on.

  2. Before 35 seconds has elapsed:
The PUMP indicator will change color to orange or yellow.
The pump will start running in low speed.

  3. Rotate the time clock to an "off" position.

  4. If the either of the pool heater or power options is installed, the pump will run in HIGH speed for 7-23 seconds. (Shut Down Cycle)
The pool heater or device connected to the power option will be turned off.
The SHUT DOWN CYCLE indicator will illuminate while the pump is running in high speed.
The PUMP light will be green.
The T.C. ON indicator on the front board will be off.

  5. If none of the options are installed or when the Shut Down Cycle ends:
    The pump will turn off.
The PUMP indicator on the front panel will be off.
The SHUT DOWN CYCLE indicator on the front panel will be off.

Freeze Circuit Test (SBX-102A F and SBX-102A FC only.)

  1. On the front panel circuit board remove the wire from TB3 pin 4 (Freeze Common).
The PUMP indicator will turn on and be green.
The pump will turn on and run in high speed.
The FREEZE indicator on the front panel will be on.

  2. If either of the heater options are installed, the heater is allowed to fire (the heater must be turned on and the thermostat must call for the heater to turn on).

  3. If the power option is installed, the device connected to it will be turned on.

  4. Install the wire back in TB3 pin 4 (Freeze Common).

  6. If none of the options are installed or when the Shut Down Cycle ends:
    The pump will turn off.
The PUMP indicator on the front panel will be off.
The SHUT DOWN CYCLE indicator on the front panel will be off.

Set Switches For Normal Operation

  1. On front board set the Flow Switch Bypass Jumper in the “switch” position.
  2. On front board set the Normal/Test in the “normal”position.
  3. On front board set the High to Low jumper to the 3 hour position
  4. On front board set the Freeze Select jumper to the 40° position
  5. On front panel set the Automatic/Manual switch to Auto position

General Information

Following is a description of the front circuit board selectors and indicators:

Freeze

Selects point at which the freeze circuit turns on. An ambient air temperature of 35°or 40° can turn on the freeze protection circuit. It is strongly suggested to use the 40 degree setting.

Flow

Used for testing the flow sensor (pressure switch).

The SWITCH position is used for normal operation, the flow sensor is active and senses the water flow. If there is insufficient water flow the sensor will open and after about 8 seconds the NO FLOW indicator will illuminate.

The BYP position is used to bypass the switch for testing. The unit will think the flow sensor switch is closed.

DO NOT LEAVE THE JUMPER IN THE "BYP" POSITION. THE PUMP SAVER CIRCUITRY WILL BE DISABLED!

High/Lo

Selects either a 3 hour or 6 hour high speed cycle before the unit automatically switches to low speed.

The 6 hour cycle should be chosen for large pools or pools that need extra time for the sweep cleaner to operate.

Normal/Test

Select Normal or Test operation.

Switch ing the NORMAL position all cycle times are normal. When SW3 is in the NORMAL position the SHUT DOWN CYCLE will last for about 7 minutes.

When this switch is in the TEST position and 3 hour operation is selected all cycle times are drastically reduced for testing purposes.
